Why FindClout built this API

Most API companies build the API first and go looking for a problem. We did it backwards. FindClout runs the biggest independently owned American meme page network, spanning sports, finance, entrepreneurship, movies, TV, and music, and view counts are the currency our entire business trades in. We built the measurement infrastructure because we needed it every single day. Then we realized everyone else needed it too, wrapped it in the x402 protocol, priced it at a cent, and put it on the open internet. This post is the story of both halves: the network, and why it produced this API.

What FindClout actually is

FindClout operates a network of American sports, finance, entrepreneurship, movie, TV, and music pages with a combined audience in the hundreds of millions. The network grew on the budgets of the most ruthlessly quantitative advertisers alive. They measured everything, they demanded real American eyeballs rather than bot reach, and they kept buying. A distribution channel that survives that customer profile is a channel that works.

What we sell is native distribution. Not ads next to content: the brand inside the content. Our team places a product into viral clips that real American audiences already love, with the brand handle tagged and the product doing its own selling. The viewer came for a highlight of their team and the product is simply there, over and over, until it is familiar. That repeated, native exposure builds a subconscious association between the brand and the thing people already care about, and that association is what moves product off shelves and users into apps.

Why a distribution company needs a stats firehose

Run that business for one week and you discover that social media measurement is your whole job. Every campaign we sell is priced on delivered views. Every creator we pay is paid against real performance. Every piece of content we test gets judged by numbers pulled hours apart. Concretely, our operation needs to:

  • Verify delivery in near real time. When we guarantee a client hundreds of millions of views in a season, we track every post in the flight daily. Screenshots do not scale to that; automated lookups do.
  • Pay creators fairly. Payouts keyed to real view counts require an independent read of those counts, on a schedule, across thousands of posts.
  • Detect junk. Purchased views decay in a recognizable pattern and bot accounts have follower-to-engagement ratios that do not survive contact with a time series. You can only see either if you are sampling constantly.
  • Report to clients with numbers they can check. The best thing we ever did for client trust was making our reporting reproducible: here are the post URLs, here is the tool, run it yourself.

So we built internal data infrastructure that answers one question extremely well: given a post URL, what are its numbers right now? Instagram, TikTok, X, live at request time, in a clean envelope. It runs our campaign verification, our payouts, and our client reporting.

Why we opened it, and why x402

The decision to expose it publicly came from watching who was asking for this data: increasingly, software rather than people. AI agents doing campaign verification, agents vetting creators, agents monitoring trends. Agents cannot sign vendor contracts or manage API keys, and we had no interest in building a billing department. The x402 protocol collapsed the entire commercial relationship into the HTTP request itself: $0.01 in USDC on Base per call, no account, no key, no invoice. We could open our infrastructure to the whole internet without hiring a single person to manage customers. So we did, and as far as we know the result is the first x402 native social media analytics API.

There is also a self-interested reason, and we will say it plainly: transparency is our best sales pitch. Our campaigns are priced on delivered views at CPMs that sound too good to be true until you check them. An open, cheap, independent measurement API means any prospective client, or their AI agent, can verify what distribution in our network actually delivers. We win when the numbers are easy to check, because our numbers hold. The campaign verification guide on this blog is literally the playbook our own clients use on us.

How advertisers use this data

If you buy attention anywhere on social, the pattern is the same one we run internally. Before a campaign: pull profile stats on candidate pages and check that view performance is proportionate to audience size. During: poll every deliverable daily through the universal endpoint and watch delivered views accumulate against the contract. After: compute the real CPM, spend divided by verified views, and compare it honestly against your paid social. That last number is the one that changes media plans. When a native placement inside viral content delivers views at a fraction of the CPM of interruption ads, and you have verified the count yourself with a neutral tool, the reallocation argument makes itself.

The pitch, since you are here

This site exists for developers and agents, and the API stands on its own: use it, build on it, never talk to us. But some fraction of the people reading a page about social media view counts are people whose job is to acquire those views. For you, the short version:

We place brands inside the sports content American audiences watch all day, every day. The placement is native, the content is clean and broadly loved, and the exposure compounds: the same person sees your product dozens of times a week, in-feed, attached to something they already care about. It amplifies every other channel you run, because people convert better on ads for products they already recognize. The floor outcome of a season with us is hundreds of millions of verified impressions of your product in front of exactly the American demographic you want, at a per-view cost no other channel in your mix will match. And every number we just claimed is checkable with the API this site documents.

If that is worth a conversation, book a call at findclout.com. Come with a post URL from any campaign you have ever run, and we will pull its numbers live on the call, one cent at a time.
